Battlefield 2042 – Portal

Battlefield V

I Was the principle designer for Lofoten Islands – a small-scale multiplayer map for the Defying the Odds expansion. I Did a lot of historical research to echo the story of the WWII mission: Operation Claymore. I tuned and balanced the map through daily playtesting and feedback. It was a joy to work with Art on this to really capture the feel of a small fishing village in Norway. The destruction and the tight lanes of this map made for a fun, close-quarters infantry fights.

Firestorm

Also part of Battlefield V, I worked on the layouts for Points of Interest in the Firestorm mode on this ginormous map.

The map had been established by other designers, but working with the artists I helped refine a lot of areas like the Lighthouse, Train Yard, Coastal Cannons, Docks and Lumber Yard. The southwest corner of the massive map.

This is an overview of Firestorm, Battlefield’s take on Battle Royale:

Battlefield 1

When I started at Dice: LA, they were just finishing the previous DLC expansion, and I got the chance to learn a lot about Battlefield’s naval warfare – jumping in with my first map that I took from pencil scribble to ship.

HeligoLand Bight

This map featured two Dreadnaught warships that can circle around the island. It was based on the first naval battle of WWI (Admiral Roger Keyes and his Royal Marine Commandos were incredible soldiers.)

The look of the map was unlike anything I’d worked with, and the Artists responsible really made for a very cinematic landscape to fight on.

The spectator cam in Battlefield 1 allowed content creators to make really cool cinematics, like this one by JustFrags that I ran across:
